make it seem like a job is to think a

lot which might then seem like all this

liberation or this freedom is from me

understanding a lot and thinking a lot

that can be a bit of a misunderstanding

because really all of the words are

there in order to assist with a quieting
01:21
down a silencing of the thinking mind

and so what is described is the
01:31
different forms that the thinking mind
01:33
takes so that those forms of thinking
01:39
can be identified and seem to be less
01:46
useful and less effective than we might
01:48
have thought they were and that seeing
01:52
of them in that light is a very
01:55
important part of their slowing down if

we don’t see a certain type of thinking
02:03
as problematic or counter to something
02:09
that is optimal and in fact think that
02:13
it is part of getting us to an optimal
02:16
place then it persists it carries on and
02:20
to be frank our thinking mind is so
02:25
habitual and obsessive because the brain

has developed in that way
02:34
because it thinks that it has somewhere
02:36
particular to get and that this thinking
02:39
is going to be helpful in achieving a
02:42
certain objective and so if the
02:45
objective isn’t delivered today
02:48
then the thinking says well let me think
02:50
a little bit more in this way that I’ve
02:53
decided as useful in order for me to
02:56
maybe find the objective delivered
02:59
tomorrow the thinking says if the

objective is delivered to tomorrow it
03:04
will be because I have thought hard and
03:07
well enough and managed to shape life or
03:13
function a particular way so that
03:17
thinking gets set in place and it’s seen
03:20
as being helpful thinking when in fact
03:23
it’s not and so it persists so part of
03:29
the process by which the unhelpful
03:33
thinking which is assumed to be helpful
03:37
thinking falls away is by us seeing it
03:41
for what it really is an obstacle to
03:46
that which we are really seeking which
03:48
is really peace of mind and peace of
03:53
mind turns out to be the absence of the
03:58
thinking mind so very clearly if this

thinking the thinking of the thinking
04:06
mind remains in place because we think
04:09
it is beneficial then the peace of mind
04:13
which we’re really looking for which is
04:15
just the absence of the thinking mind is
04:17
not going to happen

and in between stage of the process

which is a very important stage and if
04:41
we find that this starts happening we
04:44
can be very grateful because it
04:46
indicates something very important an
04:49
in-between stage is where the thinking
04:51
of the thinking mind continues to arise

because it’s its root is still there the

belief that it is useful on some level

is still in the body or in the brain in
05:08
the system let’s say so it’s still
05:13
happening and another part of the system

understands that actually this thinking

is not helpful but it’s still arising

because the root is still in place

and the other part of the system

understands that that root isn’t going
05:33
to be uprooted in this moment by someone
05:38
making a whole lot of effort because
05:39
that effort tends to be actually
05:41
reinforcing that root and so if that’s
05:45
how our system has started to be
05:48
reconditioned such that it will witness
05:52
and allow the suffering to arise the
05:56
thinking mind to arise understanding
05:59
it’s coming from a deeply ingrained root

that it’s still in place and so
06:02
therefore the suffering has to continue

to arise and it then accepts it as part
06:11
of the landscape understands it it’s
06:13
very important that we have an
06:15
understanding of why it’s arising its
06:18
arising not because we are creating it
06:21
we as a doer that can stop creating it
06:25
but rather it’s arising because the
06:28
genes and up-to-date-conditioning
06:31
of the body-mind organism which is a
06:33
very complex organism the genes and
06:37
up-to-date-conditioning include the
06:41
belief from which the thinking mind
06:45
grows so if we understand that that if
06:49
that belief is in place the suffering
06:51
just has to be there it’s just simple
06:56
impersonal cause-and-effect right so

let’s look at an example if fire is

there heat has to be there
07:08
it’s a interconnected aspect of the fire

so if we understand that the heat is
07:19
there because the fire is there then we
07:22
don’t try to insist that the heat not be
07:27
there because we understand that fire

and heat come with each other so if we

can understand that if there is a
07:38
certain belief in the system that’s been
07:43
put in place by life and in reinforced
07:48
day after day after day after day for
07:50
many years that’s what what it means by
07:53
a deeply ingrained belief if we can
07:58
understand our life has put that in
07:59
place and so the thinking that makes

sense from that belief system it’s an
08:07
inevitability that means that now
08:14
there’s an understanding of why the
08:16
thinking is there it’s not a surprise
08:21
it’s not you know unexplainable we no
08:26
longer go around saying why is this
08:28
thinking happening it’s very simple
08:31
because there is a root for it and the
08:35
root is a belief a belief that you
08:41
didn’t put in place so on the one hand
08:43
you can say it’s my belief because it is
08:47
part of this body mind organism but
08:52
what’s more important is to see how did
08:54
it become part of this body mind
08:56
organism
08:57
and like all beliefs like all

conditioning of this body mind organism
09:04
it happened it got put in place as part
09:08
of life unfolding so on the one hand we
09:13
can say it’s my belief but we need to be
09:16
very careful with the use of the word my
09:18
belief it’s a belief that resides in
09:25
this body mind organism and because
09:34
we’re not the ones that put it in place
09:36
we’re not the ones that remove it so
09:41
there’s a huge amount of relaxation that
09:44
can happen if this simple dynamic is
09:48
deeply understood not just believed
09:51
right it’s easy to hear it and believe
09:54
it hopefully the rationale that explains

why we didn’t put it there

or why we can’t get rid of it and

explains that the suffering does stem

from a a cause if that’s understood

deeply then that understanding creates a
10:20
space and acceptance

so another explanation that can run in

parallel to this as another example of

how when we understand something our
10:41
resistance stood and our questioning of
10:44
it can fall away so and the other
10:48
example is that often we look at life
10:53
and say why are there handicapped
10:56
children what did they do why are there

people below the poverty line
11:02
why is it that some people get ill at a
11:07
young age and the very simple
11:15
explanation for this is it’s very simple
11:17
so it won’t be acceptable to some people
11:20
the simple explanation is that this life
11:23
that we’re aware of this life that we
11:25
live in is a life of duality on the
11:29
surface it’s a life of interconnected
11:33
opposites that this particular creation
11:37
is one of good and bad health and
11:42
disease wealth and poverty you can’t
11:44
have one without the other within this
11:47
particular manifestation now there could
11:50
be any number of other different
11:53
manifestations either past or in the
11:56
future or parallel to this one and in
11:59
those other manifestations it might be a
12:02
manifestation of not duality a
12:08
manifestation that exists on completely
12:11
different terms to this manifestation it
12:15
may be a manifestation that has nothing
12:17
to do with time and space nothing to do
12:19
with cause and effect and so in that
12:23
manifestation everything would be
12:24
according to the the the framework of
12:28
that particular manifestation this
12:31
manifestation is a manifestation of
12:34
duality which means interconnected
12:38
opposites if there
12:40
is kindness there will be evil now this
12:46
explanation doesn’t necessarily
12:55
an explanation that will magically
12:59
resolve everything so that it is no
13:02
longer duality it’s simply an
13:05
explanation that says when duality
13:08
presents itself meaning when pleasure
13:12
turns into pain or when we see pain
13:16
delivered and know it to be pain
13:18
relative to some other alternative we
13:24
can understand how this is part of life
13:26
this is not life malfunctioning but this
13:31
is life presenting as duality so then
13:40
the question why why is this happening

can fall away if that answer is
13:48
satisfying to us

and why is that important it’s important
14:05
because we have developed in a way that
14:11
includes a belief system which is part
14:15
of the suffering that arises from time

to time a belief system that says what I
14:22
am is something that requires life to be
14:29
a particular way in order for me to be
14:31
complete which means there is an
14:38
expectation ingrained in us which is
14:44
also part of the structure the route
14:47
that I was talking about from which
14:49
suffering arises an expectation gets put
14:54
in place when we have this idea of
14:55
ourselves that what I am is something
14:59
that requires life to be pleasure

pleasure pleasure pleasure so

automatically an expectation gets put in
15:08
place I need life to be pleasure
15:10
pleasure pleasure pleasure
15:11
I expect it to be pleasure pleasure
15:14
pleasure pleasure and that expectation
15:20
can be so powerful that it prevents us
15:24
from actually seeing life objectively
15:26
and being honest seeing things as they
15:34
are clearly we if the expectation is
15:38
strong enough we simply can’t see life
15:46
that way
15:46
it’s it would be too painful
15:56
so we continue with an idea of the new
16:01
age of enlightenment coming in where one
16:07
day life will be brilliantly perfect
16:12
where everyone will love each other and
16:16
that’s just another expectation for life
16:20
to be pleasure pleasure pleasure where
16:23
we receive love from the other and why
16:28
is this perpetuated it’s perpetuated
16:30
because we have a deep attachment to
16:33
pleasure and the deepest attachment to
16:36
pleasure is the attachment to love and
16:42
the attachment to love is there because
16:44
the belief system that’s in place which
16:53
emanates not only as thoughts but as
16:55
feelings feelings of unworthiness and
16:58
insecurities lack of self-worth that
17:03
belief system says that in order for me
17:06
to be complete
17:07
I require love from society I love
17:11
require love from the other
17:25
so maybe we can see this the the seeing
17:31
of it happens just when life delivers
17:34
the right prompts and makes us realize
17:37
wow what I’m doing which sounds
17:40
altruistic waiting for life to become
17:44
perfect and trying to spread the world
17:48
of a new age of enlightenment or
17:50
something that will has already started
17:56
you know we’re now in that age that’s
17:58
saying of that happening maybe what’s
18:02
happening is we’re just perpetuating and
18:05
reinforcing our expectation for life to
18:09
be pleasure pleasure pleasure pleasure
18:13
instead of seeing it for what it is the
18:17
manifestation right now is a
18:19
manifestation of good and bad of
18:23
interconnected opposites health and
18:26
disease wealth and poverty male and
18:28
female and the great news is that when
18:34
our expectations start weakening and we
18:42
start seeing life as it really is a flow
18:46
of pleasure and pain that isn’t really
18:49
in our control we wake up in the morning
18:52
we step out of the door and we step into
18:56
life we don’t really need to step out of
19:00
the door you just need to wake up and
19:02
you’re in life what’s waiting for you is
19:06
not in our control how the day unfolds
19:10
is not in our control it happens we
19:13
might like to think it’s in our control
19:16
and if we think it’s in our control we
19:19
might experience it in our control when
19:22
we look closely we see that life happens
19:27
and it’s not our doing and so if we can
19:33
start to see that life is always
19:35
unfolding flow of pleasure and
19:38
and that it will always be that and if
19:45
we start hearing that actually that’s
19:47
not a problem if someone glares at you
19:52
that’s pain in the moment if someone
19:56
shouts at you that’s pain at them in the
19:58
moment if someone steals for me that’s
19:59
pain in the moment if someone
20:01
disrespects you that’s pain in the
20:04
moment and for as long as that deeply
20:08
ingrained belief that says my
20:10
completeness will be there when no one
20:13
disrespects me when no one steals from
20:15
me when no one looks at me in a
20:19
judgmental way for as long as that
20:22
expectation is in place we are bound to
20:25
feel resistance to the pains that are
20:27
delivered moment after moment but if we
20:33
start hearing that what we’re really
20:35
looking for in life is not for life to
20:39
be pleasure pleasure pleasure pleasure
20:40
and when I say what we’re really looking
20:42
for means once all the lack of clarity
20:46
has fallen away we’ll find that what
20:50
we’ve really been looking for even if we
20:52
haven’t been actively looking for it
20:54
because we thought we were looking for
20:56
something else when all the lack of
20:58
clarity falls away we’ll realize what

we’re really looking for is happiness in
21:03
the form of peace of mind and that peace
21:08
of mind is very much available even when
21:10
someone steals from us even when someone
21:14
disrespects us or was not honest to us
21:26
the happiness of peace of mind is a
21:30
happiness that is there when someone
21:37
steals from you and the thinking mind
21:41
doesn’t fire up and extend horizontally
21:44
in time holding hatred towards the
21:50
person that has stolen from you holding
21:53
an expectation of how that situation
21:56
should have turned out holding possibly
21:59
shame or guilt towards one’s one’s
22:02
actions that were part of the
22:04
circumstance that led to your property
22:08
being stolen
22:11
that’s the happiness happiness in the
22:17
face of unfortunate circumstance so as I
22:22
mentioned really the talks are about
22:24
silence about the silencing of the
22:29
thinking mind
22:38
so on what basis does the thinking mind
22:43
become more and more silent it becomes
22:48
more and more silent on the basis of the
22:53
core beliefs being seen to be inaccurate
22:57
the core beliefs that support the
23:00
horizontal thinking that we can call our
23:04
attitude to circumstance it happens when
23:10
the core beliefs get seen to be
23:18
inaccurate and what sees those beliefs
23:24
is inaccurate is the other part of the
23:27
brain or the body mind organism the part
23:32
that we can call the working mind and so
23:35
this talk is simply life delivering new
23:38
conditioning to the working mind that’s
23:45
how change has always happened life has
23:48
always brought about new conditioning
23:51
and we evolve so a baby that is unable
23:58
to speak evolves to a point where it can
24:01
speak because life has delivered new
24:05
conditioning moment after moment after
24:08
moment in the form of when we’re talking
24:10
about a baby learning how to speak in
24:12
the form of hearing other people speak
24:17
in the form of a parent providing
24:21
lessons about words and language so all
24:27
of that is new conditioning that brings
24:30
about change in the body mind organism
24:32
and then that change allows the body
24:35
mind organism to function according to
24:38
its current makeup a functioning that
24:42
wasn’t able to happen when the makeup
24:45
was different and so these talks
24:51
new conditioning that can become part of
24:56
the working mind which is part of the
24:58
body mind organism and the working mind
25:01
can start seeing the existing beliefs in
25:05
the body mind organism seeing the
25:08
existing beliefs that we call
25:11
conceptually called the thinking mind
25:13
and to make it simple all of the
25:17
suffering which is what disturbs our
25:19
peace of mind is based on essentially
25:24
two beliefs two deeply deeply ingrained
25:28
beliefs that life has put in place and
25:31
as I said life put them in place because
25:36
or or they got put in place because they
25:39
seem to be accurate and the two beliefs
25:44
are one i am the doer of everything that
25:48
happens through me in life and the other
25:51
is the doer of everything that happens
25:53
through them in life so that belief i am
25:57
the doer is really a way of seeing
25:59
everything that happens through this
26:03
body mind organism and through the other
26:04
body mind organism and it’s an
26:08
inaccurate way of seeing and but
26:10
essentially what i’m pointing out here
26:11
is that the belief in personal doership
26:13
is an attitude a way of seeing and
26:17
interpreting what happens so it
26:20
interprets a thought that arises is my
26:24
thought my doing I created it it
26:28
interprets the words so that are coming
26:30
out of our mouths as my words my doing
26:35
I’m in control of those words it
26:39
interprets the actions of the body as my
26:43
actions a result of my autonomy and
26:48
control and so then it sees the thoughts
26:56
and the emotions and the words and the
26:58
actions of the other in the same light

so this is the attitude of personal do
27:05
it’s a belief system a belief that says
27:08
I believe deep deep deep down inside
27:12
that I am the orchestrator the doer of
27:17
everything that happens through me and
27:19
therefore I believe that the other is
27:22
the orchestrator of everything that
27:25
happens through them and what I mean by
27:28
Orchestrator I mean some independent
27:33
autonomous entity that is insulated from
27:37
life and therefore being insulated is
27:41
some sort of controlling entity this
27:46
belief system essentially creates the
27:52
idea that there is a middle man in
27:54
inside of us like what me is that is
28:00
that the steering wheel deciding how to
28:05
function in each moment so if we’re
28:10
really honest with ourselves if we
28:11
really look at how we see ourselves how
28:16
we see the functioning that happens
28:19
through the body mind organism we’d say
28:22
like if we drop all sorts of concepts
28:25
that spiritual spirituality has given us
28:27
including these talks and we say like
28:31
honestly how do I see myself how do I
28:33
see the words that are coming out of my
28:36
mouth and the actions of the body and
28:40
when the belief in personal doer ship is
28:43
in place when we answer this question
28:47
honestly we’ll say well yeah I do
28:48
believe that I am a separate independent
28:52
entity that has complete volition
28:55
complete control over what I do next and
28:59
what I say next so if we can if we can
29:05
look at and ask ourself this question
29:07
how do I really see myself and how do I
29:11
relate to everything that happens
29:12
through me if we can say yes I do feel
29:15
like I am a separate in the
29:17
entity that there’s a degree of honesty
29:19
there an honesty means clarity now

hopefully a lot of people that are here

and listening to the recordings and the
29:34
live videos actually can look at answer

that question and honestly say well no I
29:43
don’t see myself like that anymore at
29:47
least maybe not completely like that but

let’s work on the basis that when we ask

this question how do I see myself and
29:58
how do I see all of the outputs of this

body let’s work on the basis that

honestly if we answer the question

honestly we say yes I do feel like I am

a separate independent doer meaning an
30:13
entity in control of everything that I

have ever said and feel and do and think

because that’s the that’s what I’m

pointing out as the belief that is not

in line with how things really are

so the next part is an explanation for

the working mind an explanation as to
30:45
why we’re not a separate independent
30:49
entity with complete volition complete
30:54
control over what happens next and this

is essentially the the most important
31:08
part of the teaching the explanation is
31:14
that what we are is a very complex
31:17
biological organism a human being is a
31:24
body mind organism that is conscious and
31:32
how did we come to be this yeah it’s
31:38
fascinating how the belief is in place
31:42
because the explanation is really quite
31:44
simple how did we come to be like we are
31:48
in each moment how did we come to be the
31:51
way we were when we were a five-year-old
31:53
and then we were a ten-year-old in a 20
31:57
year old and so on the explanation is

that the sperm and the egg came together
32:03
and formed an organism that had in it a
32:08
has in it a biological intelligence that
32:13
starts functioning at that very early
32:16
stage and the functioning of the
32:19
biological intelligence is to get the
32:21
organism to grow a certain way following
32:23
a certain blueprint and now it should be
32:26
really simple for us to see that the
32:29
resulting entity that it is that is here
32:32
and the resulting entity that was there
32:35
at the time wasn’t some autonomous
32:37
controller of the growing process but
32:40
rather the growing process happened in
32:42
personally as a result of impersonal
32:46
life
32:48
and at some point the organism had grown
32:52
to such a point that there was a heart
32:54
that started beating and then the brain
32:58
developed such that certain cognitive
33:01
function starts and the arms and the
33:04
legs developed and all the muscles and
33:06
nerves and everything developed so we
33:08
ran amazing the human being is an
33:11
amazingly complex and beautiful body
33:14
mind organism that has spawned out of
33:17
life and grown out of life and from the
33:22
moment that the organism came into
33:26
existence not only did it have an
33:28
internal blueprint that developed that
33:32
expanded according to the DNA structure
33:37
you could say that’s the internal
33:38
blueprint not only was that there but it
33:42
started being conditioned by the
33:45
external environment
33:53
and the external environment became part
33:57
of the growing process and so the child
34:05
being exposed to language being exposed
34:09
to the face the visual of the parents
34:14
and at some point seeing the mother walk
34:18
in the door and for the first time
34:21
saying mama wasn’t it’s doing as
34:26
something some entity that was in
34:29
control but rather it was an outcome
34:31
that was forced out of it based on its
34:33
development at that particular point in
34:36
time an action or a oh there’s a speech
34:42
couldn’t have happened a moment before
34:46
it couldn’t have happened a week before
34:48
the the child wasn’t developed such that
34:53
that happened and then on the day that
34:56
it happened it happened because of the
34:59
circumstance that the child found itself

in circumstance being a room let’s say
35:07
and then the mother entering the room
35:08
and the child becoming aware of the
35:12
mother and as a result of seeing
35:16
something the brain functioned a
35:19
particular way and the words came out
35:21
mama and then the mother gets all
35:26
excited and the baby smiles because the
35:32
mothers got all excited and said well
35:35
done or you’ve said mommy for the first
35:36
time that’s also part of the
35:39
circumstance that the baby now finds
35:41
itself in new circumstance and based on
35:44
its
35:52
so everything in life that happens
35:56
through us is a happening an automatic
36:02
happening according to our genes and
36:04
up-to-date-conditioning and the
36:06
circumstance we find ourself in
36:07
especially and including the thoughts
36:11
that arise in each moment the thoughts
36:14
are like cookies being spat out of a
36:17
cookie machine and the cookie machine in
36:22
this case is the the brain or the body
36:24
mind organism being exposed to a certain
36:28
environment and automatically thoughts
36:30
get thrown out and then there is an
36:34
awareness of those thoughts happening
36:36
and the thinking mind suddenly jumps in
36:40
and claims ownership over it as my
36:42
thought oh I shouldn’t have that thought
36:44
or I should have more of those thoughts
36:47
I’m very good for having that thought
36:49
and I’m very bad for having that thought
36:52
instead of saying that thought happened
36:55
the thought was witnessed as a happening
36:59
arising as a result of my genes enough
37:02
to date conditioning that I can thank or
37:04
blame God for now there is no God to
37:07
thank or blame it’s just a result of
37:10
life so not my doing but an
37:18
inevitability a happening this once
37:24
again isn’t an excuse for good or bad
37:30
actions happening this is the reason why
37:34
good or bad actions happen
37:43
and to call them good or bad actions we
37:45
have to set up a certain benchmark so it
37:50
is a good action or a bad action
37:52
relative to a certain benchmark if we
37:55
and setting up benchmarks is important
37:58
for certain practical tasks in life but
38:02
when it comes to seeing life clearly on
38:05
a a bigger picture basis it’s important
38:08
to understand that these benchmarks are
38:10
all relative benchmarks that we set in
38:12
place and from a more fundamental point
38:17
of view every one just is and they are
38:22
part of the overall manifestation of
38:26
life which also is so the idea of life
38:33
being good or bad from a certain
38:36
perspective doesn’t make sense it just
38:40
it is what it is we are what we are and
38:44
so holding that perspective for a while
38:48
where we don’t label anything as good or
38:51
bad because we just see it as part of
38:54
the manifestation and therefore very
39:00
valid because we understand this
39:05
manifestation is not a manifestation of
39:07
pleasure pleasure pleasure but a
39:09
manifestation of duality meaning more
39:16
simple ways the manifestation is a
39:18
manifestation of whatever it is so we
39:24
don’t even need to label it as a
39:26
manifestation of duality it it it is God
39:30
turned into this so from that
39:35
perspective we might find that we stop
39:40
labeling and judging everything is good
39:44
or bad which
39:47
has the capacity to bring us into the
39:50
present moment

because that judging of things as good
39:59
and bad is usually a judging relative to

my expectations which is part of the
40:04
thinking mind and so as the thinking
40:07
mind is interfered with by some new
40:12
conditioning that describes life
40:15
differently describes life differently
40:18
to the working mind and so then the
40:21
working mind said hey this makes sense
40:22
let me just allow life to just be let me
40:26
see life as a happening without
40:30
continually running a commentary on
40:33
whether it should or shouldn’t be that
40:35
way and if we do this we automatically
40:42
find that our view of life widens where
40:47
we’re not really interested in seeing
40:49
what we want to see but we’re interested
40:51
in seeing the whole of what’s happening
40:58
and when the thinking mind quietens down
41:02
like that and we’re interested in just
41:05
watching life happen for the sake of
41:08
life life for the sake of life then we
41:15
find there’s more presence and more
41:17
peace or connection to what we are at
41:22
the core of our being we start to
41:27
realize our other thinking mind is this
41:29
sort of layer this obstacle that when
41:34
it’s functioning when that thinking is
41:38
seen to be valid disconnects me from the
41:44
core of my being a core that is complete
41:49
in this moment complete in every moment
41:52
even in the moments when the thinking
41:54
mind was doing its thing and creating a
41:57
sense that things were missing we were
42:01
still complete at the core but that
42:04
completeness was covered up
42:09
so whenever the thinking mind gets
42:12
interrupted and we start experiencing
42:18

obstacles to that which we are looking

it’s a sort of a bit of a catch-22 we

need to seek in order to be exposed to

the information that eventually leads to

a stopping of the seeking and there’s

also a very interesting phase where the

seeking carries on but where there is no

attachment to outcome where there is no

seeker trying to do seeking where that

seeking has been surrendered and there’s

just a curiosity about seeing life as it

is and so the working mind can continue

to function pointing out our loop is

pleasure and pain but just with a

earnestness with a curiosity with an

interest in seeing things as they are

without having a strong expectation that

that seeing things as they are

will deliver something in particular

knowing that actually just the interest

and the earnestness to see things as

they are without an expectation delivers

effortlessly that which we are actually

specific point in the seeking where the

seeking continues to happen where

suffering still arises from time to time

beliefs tend to be very dense forms of

consciousness you could say and so if

those beliefs exit the body what we find

is that there’s a lot of spaciousness

and you could say that that spaciousness

has a resonance to it or a frequency to

it so our experience changes frequency

in a way it becomes less dense and more

light so when the speaking is happening

and then I find myself having to lie

down and sleep for two hours and so my

theory is that this this information is

very charged very to-the-point and when

it’s received in the system a fight

essentially starts like in a way you

could say that this information is like

the antidote to the misinformation in

our system and this fight sort of

requires a lot of body energy it’s

almost like our immune system our wisdom

immune system is being charged by the

exposure and then the wisdom immune

system goes into action and requires

energy so it shuts down certain

faculties of the body by making us tired

just like when we’re sick

the body requires energy so it shuts

down certain movements of the body and

when that resting happens I to feel I

used don’t know I was very connected to

him but and I used to feel this

happening inside and I was very

convinced that this is the process

happening in a way where I don’t need to

worry I just need to surrender and know

that the process is happening

it takes a bit of courage also to

surrender to this rest because people

around us won’t understand this process

they’ll be encouraging us to you know

get on with life you’re wasting your

life away and so at some point we

actually have maybe doubts of our own

and so the the pressure from other

people can become too much and we resist

this fatigue which is doing the opposite

of what the body is trying to get us to

do which is to surrender and let the

process happen surrender to the process

and so my suggestion and my input on

this is that this process is probably

the most legitimate and valuable project

that anyone can commit to in life and so

if we really feel that this is a process

that is happening for us that the change

is happening it might be slow but we see

that change is happening then we just

need to keep reminding ourselves that

regardless of what other people think

which often is based on their own

misunderstanding of life where they’re

not particularly happy or successful in

a meaningful way they might be outwardly

successful but when you really look and

advice aren’t really great role models

saying is not necessarily coming from a

place of wisdom so if we can appreciate

that this project that life has gifted

is actually the most valuable way that

useful or valid way of spending time

than a project that reveals what we

truly are and delivers what we’re truly

is some kind of resistance which is

described is an uncomfortableness or you

fear might be more correct but in

general we can use the word

uncomfortableness with life or with our

self with being in that place and I’ll

just let say we encounter an

uncomfortableness and uncomfortableness

stems from the misunderstandings that

are in the system because the

misunderstandings say I am x y&z;

essentially I am the doer and I need

life to be pleasure pleasure pleasure

and that’s a belief about who we are

that’s out of line with what we really

are
58:36
and then that self-identity small s

self-identity continually experiences

life as an attack on what it is and
58:52
every time that life is experienced as

an attack on what it is

this uncomfortableness with life with

oneself or with the other is part of

that resistance to life is part of how

we feel in the face of unfortunate

situation or situation that we we didn’t

expect all we didn’t want and so that’s

been happening historically throughout

our life and so that reaction then

inherently has a lot of

uncomfortableness in it and the best

that we’ve come up with is to distract

ourselves and suppress that

uncomfortableness so that

uncomfortableness hasn’t we haven’t been

equipped to deal with it

we haven’t been equipped to see that

it’s not based on an understanding of

who we are though the false

understanding of who we are is in place

and so we feel this and we think well

that’s just how life is and so the best

we have is the ability to suppress it

the body finds a way of suppressing this

uncomfortableness and that means we’ve

got a lifetime of guilt and blame that

we’re carrying around with us and guilt

and blame essentially is an

uncomfortableness with oneself and with

the other and it’s held in the body

system so part of the distraction that

is part of the suppressing of these

energies is to escape into ideas and

stories about the past and

future where in the story we make

ourself right or we imagine things in

the future that will create a positive

sense of who we are

so we’ve found this sort of better place

than feeling the uncomfortableness in

the stream of thinking and we haven’t

necessarily realized that that stream of

thinking is not the solution it’s a

band-aid of anything and so when the

pointers start pointing out that this

being caught in in the thinking mind and

being disconnected from the body is part

of the problem we have to come back into

the body and become present with life

and start seeing life as it is rather

than seeing it through a conceptual

framework we then okay so yes okay I’ll

start coming back here but when we come

back what we encounter is all of the

uncomfortableness that’s been locked

away in the body and so then it can

start to feel counterintuitive to come

into the body so we say no this isn’t

good and we go back into the the other

place out into back into our thinking

and ultimately if we don’t come into the

body and start seeing what this

uncomfortableness is it just is going to

perpetuate it’s going to remain there

and the deeply ingrained beliefs of

personal doership and attachment to

outcome are actually contained in this

energetic load in the body so they

dissolve not only by the working mind

getting a good intellectual
62:55
understanding but by us becoming
62:58
familiar of the misunderstanding

contained in the body

and as we see the misunderstanding

that’s contained in the body then the

intellectual of the intellectual

understanding of the working mind gets

to be applied to that misunderstanding

and that means that the understanding

what you’ve described this is simply a

there is an uncomfortableness um what is

that and what to do think how to

approach it and so the description I’ve

uncomfortableness is the

that happened when life unfolded and we

interpreted it from a point of view of

personal do ership both myself in the

doer with attachment to outcomes where

we believed that we needed life to be a

particular way in order for it to be

okay and it was repressed my description

suggests that the deeply ingrained

beliefs of doer ship and attachment to

outcomes are not only held in our

conscious mind but a large store the

root of this doer ship an attachment to

outcome is connected in the body and

contained in these feelings so if we can

understand that these feelings can’t

actually hurt us they can’t kill us

although that’s what it feels like when

we rest in there the feeling is that

this is going to kill me because that’s

what the circumstance in the past was

interpreted as by the self identity when

life doesn’t turn out the way we feel it

needs to essentially that is felt like a

an attack on Who I am and if that attack

is big enough it will its sense that it

will kill me

not necessarily physically kill me but

but it is a such an attack on my

self-identity that if the attack is

strong enough it will kill me

so those feelings of uncomfortableness

in the body essentially if we rest there

it’s telling us get out this is going to

kill you but it won’t it can’t those

feelings can’t kill you they can’t hurt

you they can’t even touch you so slowly

and I would suggest we do it slowly you

stay there just a little bit longer

knowing that it’s very important to

become aware of what has what’s unseen

what’s in the subconscious what’s

contained in the body because it will

reveal the particulars of your belief in

personal do ership and attachment to

outcome they will reveal certain hatreds

towards yourself and towards the other

because of certain outcomes that were

not in line with your preferences and

then the concept of belief in personal

doership and an attachment to outcome

which is a general a generic explanation

will be seen for yourself for your own

particular makeup so it then starts to

become not just a generic explanation

but you start to see the particular doer

ship an attachment to outcome that’s

contained in your system and that’s when

the real change starts to happen because

where you’re now coming in contact with

what is really there what’s in place so

you’re not just conceptually saying oh

well there are these beliefs in doer

ship and attachment outcome but you’re

seeing them yeah because the event that

happened in the past where someone lets

at that point in time there was a

feeling I hate you for what you’ve done

that’s that’s the belief in personal do

oh sure blame towards the other for what

they have

the delivered pain to you and so when

that feeling is encountered we really

get just to see the doer ship that is

existent in our system and I wouldn’t

suggest you take this on as a practice

where the doers where some do or enters
67:56
it entity says I have to feel these

energies at all costs because that would

be more of the thinking mind trying to

take a description as a prescription so

what I’m describing is that if the body

mind organism gets reconditioned a
68:16
certain way there may be more
68:20
willingness more capacity to be with
68:24
these uncomfortable energies knowing

that it is useful to be with them so I’m

not suggesting that we push ourselves

beyond what naturally happens so just

the discussion that we’re having here

might have created a new reason for the

body to offer awareness attention to

rest in the uncomfortable feeling of

being in the body a little bit longer

than it would without this explanation

and in doing that

again the attitude of non-dual

someone insisting on it being a certain

first it can seem like just undefined

detail from the past which might mean

then some thoughts of extreme blame or

hatred towards someone and if our

way we might draw the conclusion that

being very unenlightened you know

blaming the other for what they’ve done

but actually what’s happening is we’re

tapping into a blame that has happened

in the past and needs to be atoned needs

to be seen in a different light and in

order for it to be seen in a different

light it needs to be seen in the light

that it exists in right the blame itself

needs to be seen they’re seeing it in a

different light happens simultaneous to

the blame presenting itself in its full

the uncomfortableness starts to change

from being undefined uncomfortableness

to now being the remembering of a

specific event that has a very defined

uncomfortableness in it that’s very

useful and not to think that that coming

up is in opposition to your

enlightenment it’s not in opposition to

the end of blame it’s actually

supportive of the process of the end of

blame so this this is where a bit tricky

because we think well here I am sort of

we might think that we’re reinforcing

the story or believing the story by

allowing it to come up

but what you’re doing is you’re allowing

it to present itself in the way it was

locked away in the past a way that we’ve

suppressed so allow it to come up and so

finding a private space you can go into

where you don’t have to worry about

other people and what they might think

about this expression and put words onto

it allow it to develop however it

develops you know so the motion might

become very intense and you might start

shouting you might start crying just

witness all of that as the movement of

actually mistake piece for bliss because

of the contrast effect whereas if the

headache stops what’s really there is

normal health that’s saying and when

don’t experience it as blissful you
