Adultery, Really?

You shall not commit adultery.
Exodus 20:14

Isn’t it amazing! How slothful I always was with the word “adultery” (and so much other stuff)!

My first thought was always sex..!
Sex in “this world”… this is how it was taught to me in the 70s as a young boy; and since then I never verified it!

This is the “sin” of this world, that we don’t dig deeper and really make it a joyful sport to discover what is beyond our surface mind; we tend to blame circumstances, live by a misunderstood code and wait for the world to change, instead to go the extra mile of examining our own mind?

Wow! what an amazingly deep message the Bible is when you realize that it is a spiritual message, written as a concession to the ignorant mind. It takes maybe some love, intelligence, patience and surrender to discover what it really means.

adulterated = render (something) poorer in quality by adding another substance, typically an inferior one.

Yes, we render things poorer when we rush over them, when we don’t take the time to be present, when we don’t tickle/examine our own understanding.

Yes, we render things poorer when we give too much importance to the “me, myself and I” we habitually entertain as our person; the pride of the flesh, that believes it understands so much.

Now this makes much more sense to me:

  1. render (something) poorer in quality by adding another substance, typically an inferior one.
